Composition:
Ultrasolv® is a new and unique formula of potent ingrediants for liquefying expelling mucus and alleviating cough. Each 5 ml of Ultrasolv® Syrup contains: Carbocysteine 125 mg Cuaiphenesin 100mg Oxomemazine 2mg Each Ultrasolv® tablet contains: Carbocysteine 375 mg Cuaiphenesin 225 mg Oxomemazine 5mg
Indications And Usage:
Ultrasolv® is indicated for: Upper respiratory tract infections; nasopharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis Respiratory tract irritation by irritants such as excessive smoking vapours Whooping-cough-like night coughs Allergic conditions of the respiratory tracts associated with coughs Acute, subacute and trachea-bronchitis Chronic bronchitis and chronic pulmonary insufficiency Acute and subacute pneumonias due to bacterial or viral infections.
Contraindications:
• In patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components • During the first trimester of pregnancy.
How Supplied:
Ultrasolv® Syrup: bottles of 120 ml with a measuring cup. Ultrasolv® tablets: in packs of 1 strip (10 tablets)
Precautions:
Ultrasolv® should be used cautiously in the following situations: • As some sedation may occur at the start of administration, it may affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. • In patients with a history of peptic ulcer.
Pharmacological Properties:
Carbocysteine is a potent mucolytic that improves the rheological properties of the secreted mucus, restores normal ciliary function and facilitates clearance of mucus by expectoration. Carbocysteine reduces the liability to the respiratory tract infections and improves lung functions. Cuaiphenesin is a potent expectorant and mucolytic agent that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of the mucus. Oxomemazine is a phenothiazine-derivative antihistamine with cough-sedative effect that relieves cough and common colds. Ultrasolv® with its pleasant caramel flavor is well tolerated by children and adults.
Dose:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, Ultrasolv®is recommended as follows :- 2-5 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 3 times daily. 6-12 years: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 3 times daily. Adults: 15 ml (1 teaspoonful) 3 times daily, or 1 tablet 3 times daily.
